01 / About

A film shaped by two cinematic worlds.

Teacher Boy is a feature film shot entirely on location in mainland China. The film was made on a micro-budget of approximately €20,000.

Filmed over 12 days, the production brought together a small team of international and local collaborators.

Drawing inspiration from the French New Wave, particularly Éric Rohmer, and China's Sixth Generation filmmakers, including Lou Ye, Teacher Boy brings together contrasting cinematic sensibilities and cultural perspectives from East and West.
